Belle Isle is the largest city-owned island park in the United States, located in the Detroit River and connected to mainland Detroit by a bridge. Join us for this park clean-up in partnership with Belle Isle Conservancy's ‘Keep Belle Isle Beautiful’, the park’s first and only anti-litter campaign! Through this campaign, we work together to act locally while thinking globally and connect the Great Lakes region to the worldwide concern of single-use plastic pollution and marine litter.
On the day of the event we will meet in front of the Belle Isle Aqaurium at 9:30am. Parking is available with a Recreation Passport - if you don't have one they can be purchased for $12 per vehicle at entry and it will be valid for 1 year. Volunteer waivers will be required on-site. Clean-up supplies will be provided but please bring water, wear closed-toe shoes or boots, and dress for the weather prediction of the day. Also, consider bringing your sunblock and bug spray.
